Festival of Lights in Oregon!!

After turkey day, and the birthdays, and after the family left, i started to get stir crazy like you wouldn't believe.. now that its so dang cold out there, i don't get the car as much as i would like to... so the weekend rolls around, and I am soooooooo ready to get out of this house... I got Taylor all ready to go, and myself, so that when Brian got home we could just leave...

We had already decided that when we took Taylor out to Country Mercantile, for the pumpkin patch festival, and come December we wanted to take her out there again to Santa's workshop.. I was pretty excited myself to go... so i got the address to put in the GPS, and everything ready to go, but i just thought that maybe i should call the place and see if Santa was there, or what time they closed.. considering it was quite the drive away, how sucky would it have been to drive all the way there and have them been close... well its probably about 4:30 maybe 5:00pm, and i decided to give them a call. Good thing i did. For one they were closing at 6 that night, and normally close at 8pm, and for two, they weren't doin Santa's workshop this year!!... I was totally bummed.. it sounded so cool when we came across it... but im kind of glad that Taylor wasn't at that age to get bummed out about something she was totally excited for ya know, besides i was bummed for the both of us. I will tell you one thing, Pendleton, Oregon and the surrounding areas don't have much goin on for holiday festivities...

We came across festival of lights, in hermiston... not to far away.. probably about 30 miles or so. This was a pretty fun activity... We bundled Taylor, and I was a smart mommy this time and i remembered to bring her gloves..

yeah for me... I wish i would have brought my own though.. It was dang cold. We strolled through arches of lights,

and checked out all the displays of lights at the fairgrounds in hermiston, they had sleigh rides, Taylor thought the horses with bells were pretty cool... We came across a stable with 8 reindeer... (fake) you couldn't get very close to them, but their mechanical heads were stickin out and each reindeer's name was on the gate in front of them.

Rudolph...the red nose reindeer... had a very shiny nose...
Santa's Reindeer... rudolph, dancer, and comet

There was Taco stands.. kind of strange, and of course hot dogs... there was free hot chocolate, and lots of fundraisers sellin all sorts of treats... (and taylor loves hot chocolate) And Santa clause was even there... But I got trampled by kids .... can you believe that... me pushing the stroller got totally trampled... they didn't care, they just wanted to get in line to Santa. Pictures were like $5.oo... so i thought that would be a good idea for Taylor to see Santa...

But Brian decided that he didn't look real, so no not that Santa... when taylor see's santa he wants him to look real. lol. that made me laugh.. I told him, OK well you remember you said that, when we have to get pictures of Santa and Taylor at the mall for like $25 bucks... he laughed at me... but he won't when it comes that time!!..

So anyways.. that was are eventful weekend, not to much goin on in this lil ol town... we rented some movies, and when we got home, we got in our jammys and settled in front of the tv to watch Hancock.... that is a strange strange movie... I didn't understand alot of it, but it was ok... It was just strange.. most super hero movies explain how they got that way, this one didnt.. so that was hard for me to adapt to.... oh well... it wasn't a complete waste, some parts were good.

This weekend, will be our last weekend together here. So hopefully we can go to dinner at the olive garden, and we can get the chance to finish Christmas.

I am lookin forward to some time alone, as strange as that sounds, but Taylor and Brian are goin to go Christmas shopping, and leave me at home, to work on Christmas cards, and wrap presents, so that they would be easier to take to Idaho with us!!...

Which leading up to some more good news.. We will be in Idaho next weekend. and i am so excited to see everyone!!... We will be there until January 3rd.... Don't you just love the holidays...??? I do. Im really excited for Christmas especially this year, because Taylor will be ripping into her own presents, unlike last year where i opened them all. and we get to make cookies together, and she is just at that age where this will all mean something more to her... and she is a great big helper, likes to help with everything... partially why i need some alone time to work on things over the weekend. lol.

We love her, and besides Taylor and daddy can use a day to themselves!!!... Im excited for her!!!..
