Hit the Road Jack!!

A complete and total day dedicated to traveling... Brian and I were up til 3 am packing and loading the tahoe. we shoved everything we could in that thing. stuffed to the max... boxes and bags we had planned on dropping off in Pendleton at our house, and bags goin clear to portland with us.
We got a much later start that we had expected but again we didn't plan on packing til dawn. lol. so we allowed ourselves to sleep in. By the time we were ready to go, topped off our gas tank, it was after noon. hit the road about 12:30 just about.

The whole way to Pendleton, we came across so much construction.... left lane closed, right lane closed, oh left lane closed again.. kind of slowed us down a bit with all of their one laners. lol. Usually it takes about 3 hours and 20 min exactly to get from Nampa to Pendleton. Yesterday it took us over 4 hours to get there. We went to our house unloaded our stuff, met our neighbor who turns out to be the owner of whom we are renting from. I nice older couple very nice. we live down a long driveway off of a road called Tutuilla. lol. our house is at the end, its very private, huge front yard for taybugs, and just perfect for our family... We hung out at our house for about an hour, admiring it, and guestimating where we will put our furnishings. Taylor was runnin through the house like she owned it, it was great to see how much she loved being there.

Back to the road for about another 3 to 4 hours. Not so much construction... more so it got dark around 7pm, it was so windy, and down poured, so it was a lil rough at times. But we made it.. safe and sound... pulled into portland at about 9pm. Went on a hunt for our hotel, and for a place to eat. Now we just chill here in portland and wait for the okay to head back to Pendleton. We were told that we were staying 2 to 4 days. So we don't know for sure. Which we all learn that in the military that nothin is set in stone EVER!!!...

We are so very proud of Brian. Becoming a Recruiter, although he is nervous as heck, We all know that he will do great. Tomorrow is his first day at the portland office. =) how very exciting.

Hey you...glad to see you started yours as well. I don't know how in the heck to use it yet - but i'll let you know when i figure it out. They have a lot of help options but you have to know what you're doing before they are helpful - go figure!

We're so glad that you made it to Portland safe and sound - stay positive you're only there for a few days! And what you said about the military - so true half the time you can't trust what they say as far as you can throw em.

Well stay in touch chicadee and give Taybugs kisses!!!

Love you!
